Cedars Park - Cafe & Meeting Room Conversion

Work has now been completed on converting the café and meeting room at Cedars Park with contractor Noble & Taylor. This £1 Million project was supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and big Lottery Fund and involved installing a café structure immediately above medieval remains of Theobalds Palace, first visited by Elizabeth I in 1564. A concrete raft has been designed to reduce ground bearing pressure to the minimum to provide effective foundations while avoiding damage to remains. The lead consultant landscape architect is Nicholas Pearson accompanied by conservation architects Caroe & Partners.
