ACA were asked to prepare a structural engineering report to assess building safety for the charity abseil event taking place in May 2016 and reviewing the scheme to be produced by Over The Edge Adventures for the Abseiling Charity event for the Lord Mayor's Appeal in St Lawrence Jewry.
The challenge will include climbing up the narrow spiral staircase to the top of the clock tower and abseiling 94 feet down the building.
Sitting right next to Guildhall, St Lawrence Jewry is thought to have been built in 1136. The church was destroyed in the Great Fire of London in 1666 and re-built by Sir Christopher Wren in 1670-1677. Beautifully restored in 1957, it is now the official church of the Lord Mayor and the City of London Corporation and offers a varied programme of services.
