New School Built by Volunteer Charities

UPDATE:  Our Kindergarten Building designed by ACA last year safely withstood the effects of Hurricane Matthew without damage in October 2016.  Other buildings on the campus have been destroyed and we are pleased to report that the children are safe.

Volunteer charities complete two storey School building in Haiti in April 2016. ACA designed a bracing system to allow the ground floor to be largely open allowing for ventilation and a shelter for children playing outside with minimal obstruction while at the same time resisting an earthquake acceleration of the order of 1G and designing the structure to resist hurricane force winds. The earthquake analysis was carried out using a modal analysis and element software.
